This year, we are excited to celebrate the Tulip Ball 2024 on Saturday, May 11, at the Albany Capital Center.

Following the street scrubbing event on State Street, join us for the 2024 Albany Tulip Luncheon, which serves as a farewell and expression of appreciation to the 2023 Albany Tulip Queen, Olivia Owens, and her Court Members: Mariah Carter, Victoria Clary, Haleigh Gaston, and Jadan Rivera.
Additionally, the event will introduce the 2024 Tulip Court and embrace them in their new roles. Beyond celebration, the luncheon aims to support educational programs associated with the Tulip Court. These programs receive support through the Capital City Fund, which is a component fund under the United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
About the Capital City Fund
The Capital City Fund was created in 2014 by Mayor Kathy Sheehan, as a way to help nonprofit organizations better serve the people of Albany with effective, innovative programs and services.
Grants are awarded in the following areas:
Community/Cultural: programs and services that involve a direct benefit to residents, such as the enhancement of a park or the sponsoring of a parade or community event
Arts: programs that involve any creative expression, such as music, dance exhibits, or public art projects
Educational: learning opportunities for youth and/or adults
Caring for and appropriately recognizing our Veterans is also a matter that is very important to Mayor Kathy Sheehan. Since its inception, The Capital City Fund has been providing funding to Veterans organizations for the Veterans and Memorial Day Parades, the Gold Star Families luncheon, and the purchase of flags used to honor the resting places of Albany County veterans every Memorial Day.
Proceeds from the annual Tulip Ball benefit the Capital City Fund and independent donations are also welcome at any time.
We hope you will join us in contributing to this wonderful cause that allows the City of Albany to continue honoring our Veterans and providing grants to Albany-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs and services in the areas of community and culture, arts, and education.
Make a tax-deductible donation to the Capital City Fund, managed by United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
