In times of economic uncertainty, it is important to remember those in our community who need help - many for the first time. United Way of the Greater Capital Region invests in education, income and health, which are the building blocks for a good quality of life and strong community. Last year, we touched 100,000 lives. More than half of Capital Region residents believe social conditions have worsened for most people over the last year, according to a Siena Research Institute poll conducted in partnership with United Way of the Greater Capital Region. The good news is: 89 percent of respondents agree the community needs everyone's help and many recognize the potential to make a personal contribution toward the common good.
